The Gaza envelope  is an area in the south of the State of Israel. It includes all the communities that are within 7 kilometers (4.3 mi) of the Gaza Strip border

This exhibition is presenting photos that were taken by residents of the Gaza Envelope, amateur photographers who documented their everyday life in a complicated and sometimes violent reality. Through this small collection of powerful photos, we invite you to learn about the places and people of the region, their resilient way of life, communities, experiences, celebrations, unique landscape and views – all as they were before the events of October 7th.

You will see places that we have all heard about in the news, and which have tragically become somewhat of a war zone on the morning of October 7th.. 

We invite you to look at these places as they were before, as we would have seen them on October 6th, with all their livelihoods, beauty and hopes. 

And through these vigorous images and representations, we invite you to reflect on the incomprehensible loss that these places have experienced.
