3:00 pm - I Loved Jew, I Loved Jew Not: Braid Performance at Shir Hadash
February 25 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Gripping stories of antisemitism as well as uplifting tales of allies of the Jewish people. Feel a powerful transformation from hate to love. Tickets are $45 per person, $20 per student. Buy tickets.
Experience Jewish storytelling theatre by professional actors performing true stories of antisemitism and the strength to stand against it. One hilarious story comes from Emmy-winning comedian and Off- Broadway star Monica Piper, who discovers the man she’s married to has no clue about her Jewish identity.
A riveting yarn of twists and turns by Rob Eshman, former national editor of The Forward, describes an encounter with a Nazi in a hotel hot tub at a Jewish convention. Esther Amini, acclaimed memoirist of Concealed, starkly reveals a life of persecution in Iran and the astonishing challenges she faced from fellow Jews in America.
Among other powerful stories included: a Black Jewish college student barraged by campus antisemitism, reactions to the atrocities of Oct. 7, and the sweet saga of a non-Jewish woman who devotes her life to helping Jews in the hospital. This is the first in a season of three shows by our friends at The Braid, the go-to Jewish story company. Subscribers to all 3 shows get extra benefits!
