Current and Cultural Events
Tuesdays | 9:30-10:20am
This course is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to discuss, understand, and explore local, national and international issues in a respectful, meaningful, and active way. This course is discussion based, starting each class with friendly conversation then diving into topics that pique our interest. The goal of this course is to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of key news stories to connect with each other and the world around us.
After an hour of discussion, we will switch gears to explore Cultural Events. We will look at artists and artworks that relate to culturally significant calendar themes with curiosity and openness, inviting sincere dialogue and thoughtful reflection. We will examine contemporary art through a variety of lenses to understand how art is technically created, and to gain insight into its cultural context and global impact.
