This year’s event centers in part around October 7th, and an important ritual of distinction – marking the transition between the mourning ( Yom Hazikaron*) to the celebration the miracle called Israel ( Yom Ha’atzmaut*).

*Zikaron in Hebrew means remembrance
*Atzmautin Hebrew means independence

Yom Hazikaron

These important rituals of distinction are about connection. Connection to one another, connection to Israel and to the people sacrificed their lives to the country, and connection within yourself.

Through these heartbreaking times the power of connection proves to be one of our greatest strengths.

Let it be so again as we gather together.

Yom Ha’atzmaut

After the ceremony in the auditorium, join the community in a celebratory Kibbutz* experience on the APJCC Field.

  • And much more!

*A Kibbutz is a type of agricultural settlement and community collective unique to Israel.
