Of all the Jewish holidays throughout the year, not one is more fun for children than Purim! Purim can be celebrated at home by baking tasty hamentashen cookies and making gift baskets (mishloach manot) for your friends and neighbors. Or...you can celebrate Purim with your community!

Every year, synagogues run a family-friendly Purim service including a performance, or shpiel, telling the Purim story. Dressed in fun costumes with noisemakers on hand, the audience will drown out the name of the Purim villian, Haman. To continue the celebration, many synagogues also put on a festive carnival complete with games, prizes, music and parades!
