To be an artist during the Holocaust was an expressive and emotional need. Individuals paid with their lives for daring to respond to their times through art. Prisoners stopped painting at the camps, and others had never painted before, but they were driven to this form of documentation by what they saw. Maayan Glaser-Koren is a grandchild of Holocaust survivors. She volunteers in schools, universities, libraries, and congregations to educate and commemorate artists during the Holocaust.
