Letters from Camp:

We have sent dozens of children to Jewish camp this summer. Some overnight and some to day camps.  Here’s what they have to say:

--------------

To whom this may concern:

We do not have sufficient words to adequately express our deep-felt appreciation to the Federation of Silicon Valley and their supporters who enabled our children to attend overnight camp this past Summer.

The camp was a wonderful experience for our boys, and the impact that the experience has made on them has been truly remarkable to observe.

In the face of the financial pressure that our family deals with on a regular basis, it would have been impossible to give our children the gift of the encompassing Jewish environment of Summer camp. We salute the wonderful individuals who facilitate this, and who did so with compassion, dignity and respect. In the words of our 10 yr old son in his first letter that he sent home, "I am having so much fun..thank you for sending me to camp!"

Thank you!!

--------------

It was a real joy to attend the Camp Shalom. Thanks a lot for enabling it and for your help!

--------------

S: "It was really fun with lots of fun experiences and CITs' .I enjoy going to camp shalom."

--------------

I: "I loved to see Mr. Philip singing and dancing and the talent show..."

--------------

R: "I participated At Madrihim camp and enjoyed field trips - it was so much fun!"

The kids had an amazing summer!  I picked L up from Camp Newman on Sunday, and school started yesterday. No time to go through "camp withdrawals". I asked the girls about their experiences, and this is what they had to say...

L- Camp is where I feel most like myself. No one is judged, we all love each other. I've been going to camp with a lot of the same people for 7 years now. These friends are my family. Each year I learn something new about myself and my connection to Judaism. Camp is my life!  I am so thankful for the Jewish Federation financial support. I hope to return next year as a C.I.T.

S -   This was my first year going to Camp Newman. I had the best time and want to go for 1 month next year. I loved meeting new Jewish friends, and sharing a common bond. Thank you for your help sending me to Camp Newman!
