This year's remembrance and celebration of Israel at 75 served as a beautiful example of what we can accomplish when we come together in community.
Our Havdalah ceremony, our ceremony of separation and distinction, ritualized the transition Israelis experience in moving from a day of mourning fallen soldiers and victims of terror to celebrating Independence Day.
On our campus, Israelis, North American Jews, interested community members, the secular-minded and the religiously inclined joined together to mourn, sing, dance, eat and exchange ideas.
It was heartening to be a part of this powerful collaboration between so many exceptional community leaders and organizations.
May we go from strength to strength
