trip invigorates local efforts to strengthen ties between blacks, jews
Forty years after the civil rights movement, a Jewish woman and a black man sat next to each other on an Alabama bus, working together to reduce poverty and strengthen ties between Jewish and black leaders.
“We weren’t just tourists — at each stop we had speakers from a very diverse spectrum of folks from Alabama teaching us about the civil rights movement and what’s going on in Alabama today,” said Diane Fisher of San Jose. Read more
2010-2011 JCRC EMERGING LEADER AWARD
David Ginsborg is the recipient of the JCRC Emerging Leader Award for 2010-2011. David has been actively involved in government relations with JCRC, as well as interfaith relations. As part of the award David will be attending the national JCPA Plenum in Washington, DC in March, 2011. Previous recipients of this award are Harry Cornbleet (2009-2010) and Eric Rosenblum (2008-2009).
