Nearly 500 lay and professional campaign leaders from across North America geared up for the 2011 Annual Campaign in a series of first-time Campaign Kick-Off events sponsored by The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA).
The Campaign Kick-Off events allowed the Federation professionals to enhance their fundraising skills, share best practices and network with colleagues from across North America.
JFNA offered the four single-day regional Campaign Kick-Offs from July 22 through Aug. 17 in Newark, NJ; Orlando; Chicago; and Los Angeles. Participants discussed fundraising challenges and strategies for the 2011 Annual Campaign and participated in workshops on solicitation with Jason Chudnofsky of Cross Tech, a leading sales and motivational trainer.
Participants also met with leaders of our overseas partner agencies, including the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Agency for Israel, about overseas needs in 2011, and received presentations on the 2011 Case for Giving.
"I want to thank our overseas partners for participating in these meetings and reminding us of the critical issues Jews all over the world face," said 2011 National Campaign Chair Michael Lebovitz.
"I was so proud to join JFNA as we visited four convenient regions and inspired, educated and engaged our 2011 campaigners in a productive and personal way," said Linda Hurwitz, JFNA's National Women's Philanthropy Chair. "These lay leaders and professionals are geared up with the knowledge, passion and tools to kick off their promising year ahead. What an uplifting and worthwhile day for all fortunate enough to attend."
"JFNA has been speaking with leadership who have requested more regional meetings with a focus on training and education," said Paul Kane, senior advisor to JFNA's President and CEO Jerry Silverman. "We were thrilled at their response to these initiatives."
"The Campaign Kick-Off meetings were informative and inspiring. The mix of programs was creative, substantive and well done, and it was a great venue for brainstorming and networking,” added Richard Friedman, CEO of the Birmingham Jewish Federation.
