JCC’s Fall Gala theme is “Dancing With Our Stars”

The Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center’s fall gala will be held on Saturday evening, November 1, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fairmont Hotel’s Regency Room, with dinner and dancing. Black-tie is optional, but gala-goers are encouraged to dress to the nines.
    The theme,“Dancing With Our Stars,” plays on the theme of the popular reality show Dancing with the Stars. The gala honors the 20 past presidents and chairs of the JCC.
    Six of the JCC’s past president honorees will be chosen to learn a dance with a professional ballroom dancer and then perform at the gala. Event-goers will have the opportunity to vote on which president was the best dancer. Dancing instructors will also be available.(To complement the dancing theme, ballroom dance classes will be offered at the JCC throughout summer and fall 2008. A Latin dance class is also being offered starting September 19.)
    After  ballroom dancing, Joel Nelson Productions will play a selection of popular music for the rest of the evening. Silent and live auctions will complete the evening. Scott Budman of NBC11 will be the master of ceremonies, and Larry Gerston of NBC11 and San Jose State University will be the evening’s lively auctioneer.
    Robin Sabes, daughter of Addison-Penzak founding donors Cookie and Arnie Addison, is chairing the gala this year.
   Tickets  are $150 per person if purchased before September 27, and $175 per person after that.
