Hanukkah Wish List


Each year, JFSSV distributes Hanukkah baskets to members of the community in-need. Below is a list of donation items needed to make this program a success. Please drop off donation items at JFS (located in the Levy Family Campus) or call for more information. $18 covers the cost of one Hanukkah basket sent to an isolated senior and may be given in someone’s honor or memory.

Yarn for Knitzva Corps members to knit or crochet into cozy blankets, booties and caps.

50 hand-made booties and caps for newborns.

Hanukkah Gift Cards to Safeway, Mervyn’s, Target or Kohl’s for needy members of our community to purchase food, clothing and household goods.

Prepaid Gasoline Cards for underemployed members of our community to go to job interviews. (Contact Zoya @ 357.7452)

Bags of chocolate gelt, toy dreidels, boxes of latke mix, jars of matzoh ball soup, and jars of gefilte fish, and jars of jam for Hanukkah baskets.

Volunteers to deliver Hanukkah food baskets.

Volunteers to lead weekly Shabbat services in nursing homes and board and care facilities. (Contact: Avital @ 357.7450)

Computer savvy volunteers to help job seekers apply on line. Commit two hours at a time to work between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to work with job seekers in the computer room at JFS.
