$1 Million Boost Levy Family Campus Campaign

Mindy Berkowitz of JFS is excited to move into the Levy Campus

Progress on the Levy Family Campus has accelerated dramatically in recent weeks with a $1 million gift from Eli Reinhard, and the commitment of Jewish Family Service of Silicon Valley to move into the new building.

Reinhard's gift brings the fundraising total to $12 million, just $10 million shy of the $22 million goal. For the total contribution that Reinhard has provided to the campus, the new building will be named to honor him. More

An elderly woman who is part of the senior's program at the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center will never forget Fagie Rosen's kindness and generosity. After traveling on a barge down the Mississippi, on one of Fagie's famous trips, this woman fell and dislocated her elbow.

"She went with me to the hospital and she stayed," said the woman who asked that her name not be used in the paper. "I love her dearly, she's always concerned for us." More

Rebecca Willheim was living in Los Angeles and pregnant with her daughter when Israel was declared a nation. She immediately set-up a campaign to send clothing, medicine and vitamins to the fledgling state, rallying those she knew to help. Her father-in-law, who owned a furniture store, gathered the donations in his delivery truck. Friends spread the word. The Pioneer Women— women in the Labor Zionist Organization—shipped the donations out. "Someone had to do it," Rebecca says simply. More
