Eitz Chaim Academy hires new principal

Eitz Chaim Academy, the Orthodox Jewish Day School in San Jose, has hired Mrs. Francis Gabbert as its new general studies principal.
Mrs. Gabbert, a veteran of the Campbell Union School District, has spent the last 25 years in the field of education, specializing in reading development and fluency.

For 12 years, Mrs. Gabbert ran a reading program that included children at all literacy levels. Along with her teaching expertise, Mrs. Gabbert has experience directing musical and drama productions. Last year, students in Mrs. Gabbert's kindergarten and first grade classes performed in a special President's Day program.

What draws Mrs. Gabbert to take on this new responsibility? "I love the challenge, my wonderful co-workers and the great feeling of accomplishment," she said. "I have the opportunity to bring the children of many cultures and nationalities together in a nurturing, learning environment that will build a long lasting Jewish community of proud American citizens."
