Also on Dec. 3 at 1:00 p.m., author Rich Cohen will discuss the Eisenstadt family whose patriarch, Ben Eisenstadt, developed the sugar substitute Sweet’ N Low, after World War II. Cohen’s book, “Sweet and Low,” is the story of the family’s battle over its fortune and legacy and its fight for the American dream. At 3 p.m. on Dec. 3, author Marissa Moss will host a youth writing workshop.

On Dec. 4 at noon, Leslie Goldman will tackle America’s obsession with image in a discussion of her book “Locker Room Diaries,” This book is the culmination of the five years Goldman spent interviewing women of all shapes and sizes about their body image. Combining intimate and humorous confidences with expert opinion, Goldman’s book reveals how any woman can learn to love her body as it is.

Also on Dec. 4, at 6:30 p.m., a children’s story time will be held with author Diane Rauchwerger reading her “Dinosaur on Hanukkah.” Rauchwerger’s main character is a dinosaur that arrives to help a child celebrate Hanukkah, and brings chaos in its wake.

Larry Kushner is the featured speaker on Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m.. His work, “Kabbalah: A Love Story,” is an exploration of the wisdom of Kabbalah as illuminated through the developing relationship of the two main characters in his novel.

Amy Ostrower will speak on her book “Nana Lena's Kitchen” at 11 a.m. on Wed. Dec. 6. There will also be a cooking demonstration.

Robert Fried will introduce his book entitled “Great Food, Great Sex” on Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m.. Fried will share his simple-to-implement program with recipes and advice to enhance sexual vitality, as well as promote weight loss, lower cholesterol and blood pressure and boost energy levels.

Marty Klein will close the book festival week on Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. with a discussion of his controversial work,“America’s War on Sex.” The book describes how a coalition of Christian Right “decency” groups and the government are waging a war on Americans’ sexual rights. Klein further explains that this war is just the beginning of a broad undermining of secular democracy as we know it.
