Obituaries: September 2006
Obit
Margo Heller, a former resident of Saratoga for 26 years
and longtime member of Congregation Beth David, passed away on July 30
in Lake Worth, Florida, where she had lived for the past four years. She
was 63-years-old.
In addition to being a mother, grandmother and wife, Heller was very involved
socially, politically and Jewishly. She was a member of Brandeis Womens
Organization, ORT and Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation
of Silicon Valley. She also sat for two terms on Beth David’s board
of directors. Outside of the Jewish community, Heller was on the board
of Diabetes Society of Santa Clara and was also very involved in Democratic
politics. “Anything she did, she did with absolute gusto,”
said her husband Meyer. “She was a person of great personality.”
Heller is survived by her husband of 39 years Meyer; children and children-in-law
Lorin and Amanda Heller and Julie and John Hockey; grandchildren Emma,
Gabriel, David and Nora; and sister and brother-in-law Susan and Michael
Nathanson of Chicago. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Israel
Emergency Campaign, c/o the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley or the
National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Santa Clara Valley Chapter.
