Homes of Vines & Roses tour May 20, 21, benefits APJCC

The Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center of Silicon Valley in Los Gatos will present a home and garden tour of four spectacular properties in Saratoga and Los Gatos. The homes will be showcased on May 20 and 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Wednesday evening, May 19, patrons of this fundraising event will be guests at a cocktail party featuring a performance by artists of the San Jose Opera Company.
The homes tour has been designed to showcase distinct properties with unique, sophisticated and stylized furnishings and accessories. The landscaping is varied, from formal gardens to a charming courtyard with a fresco.

A European villa, nestled among stately oaks, features architectural details and antiques imported from France. Elegant, yet warm and welcoming, this home is a visual treat. Casa de la Rosa, a Mediterranean bungalow, was remodeled and redecorated by Cherie Rose of The Rose Collection. This jewel is like a cruise through the Greek Isles. Behind private gates, the third exceptional property welcomes its guests to a capacious, custom home. Glass walls abound, overlooking an infinity pool, fabulous sculpture and beautiful gardens.Situated on a knoll overlooking a vineyard, a grand California contemporary completes the tour. This home is modeled after the Hawaiian concept of a lanai, making it a truly unique property. Kren Rasmussen of Bloomster’s will be designing and donating all the floral arrangements.

This event will benefit and enrich the preschool, teen and senior programs of the APJCC. Advance tickets, $30, are available at The Rose Collection: 155 N. Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos; Bloomster’s: 5945 Almaden Exp., San Jose; Design & Interiors: 170 State St. Los Altos; Sur La Table: Santana Row or mail check payable to the APJCC (with self addressed stamped envelope by May 10) to APJCC, 489 Division St. Campbell, CA 95008.

On tour days, tickets cost $35 and are available at Sacred Heart Church, 13716 Saratoga Ave., Saratoga, where guests are asked to park and catch a shuttle to the homes. Patron tickets cost $250. Call 358-5916 for more information.
