By Bettina Rosenberg

Rabbi Harold S. Kushner will give the final lecture of the 2004 SBI lecture series on Thursday, April 22, 7:30 p.m., at Congregation Beth David. The talk, underwritten by Gloria and Ken Levy, will be on the topic “Living a Life That Matters.”

He has also written When All You’ve Ever Wanted Isn’t Enough, which was awarded the Christopher Medal for its contribution to the exaltation of the human spirit.

In 1995 Rabbi Kushner was honored as one of 50 people who have made the world a better place in the last 50 years. With novelist Chaim Potok, he is co-author of the new Conservative commentary on the Torah, Etz Hayim. His book, Living a Life That Matters, was a 2001 best seller. Rabbi Kush-ner’s newest book, The Lord is My Shepherd-The Healing Wisdom of the 23rd Psalm, was released this fall.

The lecture will be followed by book sales and signing. Proceeds will directly benefit the programs of the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center.
