17th Annual Brandeis Lunch with the Authors, March 28


The Santa Clara Valley Chapter of Brandeis University National Women’s Committee (BUNWC) will hold its annual Lunch with the Authors on Wednesday, March 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the historic Del Monte Building, 100 S. Murphy Ave., Sunnyvale. The donation is $72, part of which is tax deductible. For information and reservations, call Joyce Mendel at (408) 238-7316. This event is open to the public.


Many prominent authors will speak at the luncheon. One of them includes John Lescroart, a New York Times best-selling author who is best known for two series of legal and crime thrillers featuring the characters of Dismas Hardy and Abe Glitsky. He has authored 17 novels, two of which are “The Hunt Club” and his newest “The Suspect.” He lives in Davis with his family.


Lauren Lipton grew up in Los Gatos and now lives in Manhattan. She has been the deputy editor for Cosmopolitan and senior editor for In Style Magazine. In her debut novel, “It’s About Your Husband,” she presents a fascinating tale about the transformation of a California girl into a New Yorker. Lauren lives in New York with her family.


Stephen Nasser is the author of “My Brother’s Voice: How a Young Hungarian Boy Survived the Holocaust: A True Story.” His book is a personal account of his family’s experiences during the Holocaust and how a brother’s love can encourage the willpower to see a better tomorrow. Stephen lives in Las Vegas with his wife.


Caryn Huberman Yacowitz is the award-winning author of 11 children’s books. Her Native American series are non-fiction works which teach about the many American Indian tribes. She also writes picture books, including “Pumpkin Fiesta” and “The Jade Stone,” a Chinese folktale, for younger children. She writes and produces children’s plays and presents educational workshops for local schools. Caren lives in Palo Alto with her family.


The moderator is Lolly Winston whose newest novel is “Happiness Sold Separately.” Her other New York Times best-seller, “Good Grief,” has been optioned by Universal Studios. She is also a free-lance journalist who has appeared in numerous magazines. Lolly lives in Los Gatos with her husband.


Books will be available for purchase, as well as autographs by the authors.
