Reading Program: South Peninsula Hebrew Day School pre-kindergartners Mason Karonsky (left), Elisheva Metzger, and Talya Gilboa donated books to the Mercury News Gift of Reading Program as part of SPHDS' tzedakah project. More than 675 new or gently used books were collected.

Sinai Shabbat: Mayer Adelberg and Hannah Freeman, both 4, are Shabbat Abba and Eema at a recent Sinai Nursery School Shabbat celebration. The weekly ritual engages all the senses as singing, dancing, stories and blessings help bring in the joy of Shabbat.

Bowling Fun: Prospective sixth graders for Yavneh day school's pioneering middle school class recently spent an evening of Extreme Bowling at Saratoga Lanes. Everyone walked away with a new Chalutzim-Pioneers T-shirt. Several more events are planned for those who may be interested in joining Yavneh's pioneer sixth grade class, including a trip to a Golden State Warriors game this month.
