Israeli Food from Past to Present with Rebecca Ets-Hokin - Exploring the World of Judaism

March 11, 2012 from 9:30 AM

Join us for a cooking demonstration, tasting, and an interesting and delicious food journey through the history of Israel.

We’ll explore the changes in food brought about by indigenous influences, food rationing, Sephardi and Arab influences, and current trends.

Taste dishes such as Ghorayebah, Roasted Moroccan Carrot Salad and Muhamarra, and leave with recipes as well.

Rebecca Ets-Hokin, CCP, is a well-known culinary personality in Northern California. She was the author of the cooking column for the J weekly for 10 years, and her knowledge of Jewish food and kashrut are extensive. She lectures all over the Bay Area on Jewish food and Israeli cuisine, and teaches numerous Jewish cooking classes as well.

Exploring the World of Judaism is a program of Congregation Shir Hadash and the Bureau of Jewish Education and is supported in part by the Newton and Rochelle Becker Charitable Trust.
