A lecture by Rabbi Mary Zamore, author of The Sacred Table: Creating a Jewish Food Ethic
Thursday, February 2nd | 7:30pm
Join Rabbi Zamore for a rich dialogue about the intersection of Judaism and food. Her anthology of essays on Jewish dietary practices explores the questions and challenges of navigating the personal and communal choices about eating. The historic Jewish approach to eating, keeping kosher, is explored, broadened and, in some cases, challenged within this volume. Join the discussion of the Jewish values that shape our food ethics and how to navigate these choices. Rabbi Mary L. Zamore currently serves as the Associate Rabbi of Temple B’nai Or of Morristown, NJ and is a member of Hazon’s Jewish Food Educator Network.
This lecture will take place at the MLK Jr. Library in Downtown San Jose.
