A Torah scroll will be unrolled around the inside of the sanctuary, and the end of the Book of Deuteronomy will be read, followed immediately by the beginning of the Book of Genesis (Bereshit), symbolizing how the reading of Torah never ends. It is a time to welcome students new to their Jewish education at Temple Emanu-El, who will be honored during the service. It is also a time of great rejoicing with the Torah, with parades, music and dance. For more information, contact Deborah in the Temple office.
